Our History

A-1 Plank & Scaffold has been servicing the scaffolding and shoring industry for over 25 years. A-1 Plank and Scaffold was established in 1976 in Southern California as a small manufacturer of rodded wood scaffold planks. Today, we offer the most extensive product line of any type of scaffolding or shoring manufacturer in America. 

Since our inception, our business has been family-owned and operated. We take pride in personally serving our customers and staying attuned to their needs. Shoring and scaffolding technologies have changed over the years, but one thing has remained constant. The A-1 concept of doing business is to manufacture the highest quality products with the best service at the most economical price. Our Product

A-1 has become a substantial force in the scaffolding and shoring industry. We manufacture an extensive product line from which to choose. Our product line is the most extensive scaffolding and shoring manufacture in America. A-1 also custom-manufactures scaffolding and shoring to meet the individual demands and specification of our customers.

Quality

A-1 manufactures to meet or exceed both OSHA and ANSI standards. We use the highest quality raw materials available and all steel used in manufacturing A-1 scaffolding and shoring is certified to meet our highest specification. In addition, all of our products are 100% traceable. Our products are inspected during the course of manufacturing, after completion and are held to our strict quality control criteria. Our state of the art powdercoat paint department allows us to offer our customers a wide variety of colors and excellent coating quality.


Our Facilities and Distribution

A-1 has two manufacturing facilities. Our West Coast location in Paramount, California serves primarily the Western United States, while our Midwest location in Hays, Kansas services all location east of the Rocky Mountains. Our staff is dedicated to carrying out the high standards it has set for all phases of operation.

From the Alaskan pipeline to the Wrigley Field, our engineering services allow us to manufacture custom requirements and applications. We are also committed to implementing the latest technologies to improve our products.
